Wolverines News · Wrestling Update 2/14/19

The WM coaching staff was satisfied with the JV wrestlers

performance at the JV County Tournament held on Saturday, 2/9/2019.

Due to the tournament being only a one-day event it was single elimination

until the quarterfinal round (3rd round). This was a great experience for the young

‘Rines wrestlers. We are excited that the whole team wants to improve over the spring

and summer. We plan on participating in several tournaments during the spring.

Caleb Vargas 106 – 2nd round loss

Naveen Sundaramurthi 113 – 1 match from the placement round

Hayford Dogbe 113 – 2nd round loss to the eventual 113 lb Champ

Andrew Velasquez 120 – 1st round loss, but wrestled a good match

Nicholas Melendez 120 – 2nd round loss

Moussa Mbaye 120 – 1st round loss, but wrestled a good match

Julio Esmieu 126 – Close 2nd round loss, had the kid pinned twice but didn’t get the call

Troy Wallace 132 – 1 match from the placement round

Kedren Sudan 138 – 1st round loss, but wrestled a good match

Nathan Terry 138 – 1st round loss, but wrestled a good match

Seda Tsarni 145 – Tough 2nd round loss, had the kid pinned in a headlock toss but didn’t get the call

Lindell Lee 145 – Tough 2nd round loss

Elike Kalin 170 – Tough 2nd round loss to the eventual 3rd place winner
